How can I check if the app is working to protect a device?

The user can perform the simple non-invasive test of removing your device's passcode. This will cause the mobile agent to detect this vulnerability and instruct the user to remediate the issue.

The Device isn't reporting back, what do I do?

Due to certain limitations of the mobile platforms, it is necessary to manually initiate the first launch of the ActiveShield app in order to begin doing its job. Therefore, you must inform the users to activate the app on their respective devices.

How to notify users to activate the app on their device?

To notify users to activate the Active Shield app on their device, do the following:

  • Log into your BETTER MTD console

  • Go to Devices

  • Select the desired devices via the checkbox on the left-hand side

  • Towards the top, click the SEND EMAIL INVITE button.

  • Select Device Activation then click SEND.

This will send an email to the user of the device with an activation link. If the link is opened, it will proceed to launch ActiveShield if available on the device.
